Howdy all looking forward to racing with the best of you. My boat is from 1975 and I do not have a quick release clew. I read in the rules that it is necessary and I do see the benefit of it and am looking forward to getting one, but I don't know where to look or what to get. Please advise.
Thanks Nick

Hello and WELCOME Nick, can you attach a photo of the end of your boom?
Normally there is a hook that goes into the clew grommet on the sail, slides along a rail and is attached to the outhaul line which then goes around two sheave and under and into the boom back to the mast where there is another sheave that turns the outhaul line back to the deck. Anyone got a photo for Nick?
Edit: found two

Thanks for the speedy response. I can attach pictures later this week. What does the hook look like at the end of that assembly? Either I am over estimating the need or defined quick release for the clew or missing the quick release part of the pictured assembly.
